Hi powershooter here is a nymph not a midge i use for panfish. Only bc the midge can be difficult to get out of the hard mouths.

Sizes 14, 16, or 18. Whichever you prefer tying. Bluegill like the big nymphs as well.

                  Looks good Drytie!

I prefer tying sizes…..THAT I CAN SEE!!!!! My hats off to all you tyers that can tie 18 and smaller.

Being a warm water guy, 12’s are tiny for me.

That’s great , thanks . I’m going to try the midge this year , some water is so over fished here that they won’t even take earth worms . Trying to turn my boy on to fishing more , right now he just catches nymphs in the creek for me ๐Ÿ™‚

Ralph, just watched your video on that 3m Midge . Great video , just tied some of them . Going to fish them on a double or triple rig and maybe have a nymph on the bottom.

Glad you liked it. The 3M has been a great pattern for me.

Thanks guy. I have tied flies for customers in colorado in size 24 midge. Try tying that damn thing on tippet. Holy s***. you need a pair of microscope glasses for it. Productive still though. Bluegill nymphs you can tie down to size 8 or even 6. They take huge nymphs and are not picky at all.
